Shan Mohamed is the Managing Director of Century Insurance Agency Limited (Century) having held this post since 1999. Through Century, Mr. Mohamed has spearheaded the advancement of NAGICO Insurances in the BVI, growing the company's portfolio, moving the company from an relatively unknown entity to a household name today.
With more than 20 years in the industry, Mr. Mohamed has acquired invaluable experience in Claims, Motor, Life, Property, Casualty Underwriting and Customer Service.
Mr. Mohamed has completed several professional examinations, including the Associate in Claims and Associate in Personal Insurance Diploma from the Insurance Institute of America, 2008; the Advance Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, 2005; the Certificate in General Insurance, 2005; the Associate, Insurance Agency Administration Diploma, 1997; the Fellow Life Management Institute Diploma, 1994; the Associate Customer Service Diploma, 1993; and the International Claims Association Diploma, 1993. He is a member of the London-based Society of Technicians in Insurance.
Mr. Mohamed is very involved in community service in the BVI. He has steered the company into the forefront with charitable contributions to the development of the Virgin Islands in education, youth development, the arts and culture, health, sports and many other areas.
Mr. Mohamed is an active member of the Rotary Club of Road Town and served as the club's President between 2014/2015. He is a member of the Board of the BVI Recreation Trust. He is the former President of the BVI Cricket Association and has served as a Board Member of the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association from 2008-2010.
Mr. Mohamed and his wife, Priya, share two have beautiful children, Ariel and Ethan.
Niasha Penn holds an Associate Degree in General Business Administration, Small Business Concentration & a Certificate in Supervisory Management from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.
Niasha started working at Century Insurances in August 2006 and has since gained a vast knowledge of the insurance industry. She is well-rounded in her knowledge of the various types of insurance products offered by NAGICO as she has worked in almost every department within the company.
Since her time at Century, she has been one of the key frontline staff and has participated in various training seminars, equipping her with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service.
Niasha is currently studying for her commercial insurance exams and also studying through the Centre for Professional Development & Community Education at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. She recently completed the Medical Administrative Assistant course which will also assist her greatly in performing her duties within the medical department.
Ann Stacey Roberts holds an Associate Degree in Science, Hotel Management Concentration from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.
She began working at Century Insurance from June 2004. Her initial duties included serving as a front line Customer Service Representative, but her commitment, knowledge, experience and accolades from clients along the way resulted in her eventual appointment as Customer Service Manager.
Angela Charles, who holds an Associate Degree in Science, Natural Science Concentration, from H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, started working at Century in August 2006. Her initial duties included serving as a front line Customer Service Representative, but her commitment, knowledge and experience over the years resulted in her eventual appointment as Senior Insurance Administrator.
As a key employee with knowledge spanning all the various insurance products offered by NAGICO Insurances, Ms. Charles continues to interface with clients and visitors alike. She also oversees the underwriting for the various NAGICO agents in the BVI.
She has completed the Associate in Personal Insurance Diploma, gaining the API designation, in 2013 and has earned the AINS designation in 2010 after completing the Associate in General Insurance. Knowledge gained from her insurance studies and participation in other various training seminars have helped her gain knowledge essential for her supervision of staff in the customer service area.
